JULES IS DEAD is a Toronto-based social media star and musician signed to Atlantic Records, with over 340,000 combined followers across Instagram and TikTok, along with over 10,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Known for their distinctive pop punk and emo style, JULES IS DEAD has cultivated a dedicated fanbase and a strong online presence.

As part of a Motion Design exercise, I conceptualized and produced an animated lyric video for the first verse and chorus of their track “Spells and Power Thoughts”. The goal was to visually capture the energy and mood of the song while enhancing the storytelling through dynamic typography, engaging animations, and unique visual elements.

The project was developed using Adobe After Effects for animation, Adobe Illustrator for vector assets, and Adobe Photoshop. I focused on creating smooth transitions, rhythmic text animations, and a visual style that aligns with the artist’s unique aesthetic, resulting in an engaging and polished piece that complements the music.
